POLYNESIAN HULA DANCE: STORYTELLING HAWAII STYLE

International Dance/Arts and Music/Arts Curriculum

Targets: History, Dance, Music Appreciation

Grade Levels: K-8

Goal: To teach students about the ancient art of storytelling through Polynesian Dance and Music

Colorful dancers and costume changes highlight this fast-paced presentation of Polynesian storytelling through dance and music. A lively and animated narrator teaches the students the style of each dance and where they originated, and the meaning of the stories behind the dances.

Then we get the students themselves to participate!
